How Does The Fire Flower In Your Heart?
How Does The Fire Flower In Your Heart?

My mini Bible Study comes from the reading in:
2 Corinthians 4:7-11 NLT
* We now have this light shining in our hearts, but we ourselves are like fragile clay jars containing this great treasure. This makes it clear that our great power is from God, not from ourselves.
* We are pressed on every side by troubles, but we are not crushed. We are perplexed, but not driven by despair.
* We are hunted down, but we are not destroyed.
* Through suffering, our bodies continue to share in the death of Jesus so that the life of Jesus will be also seen in our bodies.
* Yes, we live under constant danger of death because we serve Jesus, so that the life of Jesus will be evident in our dying bodies.
In verse 7 it says that we have this light shining in our hearts. You mean like fireworks? Because that might hurt a bit. In fact it might just break our jars of clay.
What is this great treasure of light that these jars contain? God says it is power. Power from Him. Without Him then what do we have? Nothing. We are powerless.
We sometimes get stressed in our daily routines especially when something unexpected happens.
Will we turn to Him during these times of pressing? They shouldn’t destroy us, right?
Regardless of the things we go through, the struggles that make us who we are, mold and shape our lives.
Other people and other Christians will be able to see the light in us because of how we follow Jesus and how we live for him.
The evidence of God’s light will be apparent to other people and THAT will sometimes put us through trials and tribulations.
The more our light shines, the more we face. You might just wonder, why would anyone want to go through extra pain?
The outcome that one receives from following God’s plan for our lives far outweighs the tribulations.
There is a crown of glory for those that take up His path, so worth the glory we receive when we are born into our new bodies in Christ Jesus.
His kingdom and the places He has for us in unlike anything any of us has ever seen.
The colors in our new home that is reserved just for us, do not even compare to the colors of this earth. This treasure is beyond what we can even dream of.
When you think about a jar of clay do you think about it fired and finished? Or still wet in its clay slip form where God can still mold you, shape you and make you?
I would ask you all today to imagine what heaven is like. The sacrifices we make by serving Jesus, is that worth it to you?
How will you change what you are doing today so it is known that your heart has flowering, expanding fire and cracks of light that represent the new power of God?
